Primary Care Mission in Kien Giang

In 2019, IHVN offered our first primary care mission to serve the needs of elderly patients in Rach Gia City in Kien Giang province. Our team was invited to see patients in need at Trung Cang clinic, a newly opened multi-specialty clinic in Rach Gia city. IHVN brought a team of experienced doctors and nurses to work with the local team of providers. Patients were pre-registered prior to the mission as coordinated by local city government officials. Patients were screened by IHVN nurses with an initial physical assessment and history to determine which specialists would be best to address their needs. Nurses also provided much needed patient education on medications and appropriate care at home. 274 Patients were seen by our doctors and many tests required for their care were provided by IHVN with the remainder of costs provided by the Trung Cang clinic. Patients were able to receive EKG, pulmonary function testing, bone scans, echocardiography, and lab testing.
